A TREASURY OFFICE OPENED IN ELWAK IN TANDEM WITH THE SPIRIT OF DEVOLUTION

 County chief officers Mr. Alinoor Adan (Finance) and Hassanur Abdullahi (public service and devolved units) this week spearheaded the opening of sub-county treasury office in Elwak town, Mandera South sub-county. The move is aimed at bringing service closer to the people in tandem with the spirit of devolution. A two day workshop was conducted to sensitize staffs on streamlining of service delivery and equip them with necessary knowledge pertaining to finance procurement and accounting modalities.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Alinoor revealed that the county government will work on forensic auditing system as a means of implementing development agendas through accountability and transparency. Asking the officials to adhere to the principals of ethics and code of public service.

The chief officer for Public Service and Devolved Units also revealed that plans that are underway to open similar offices across all the sub-counties. Meanwhile, the Elwak office will serve the sub-counties of Lafey, Mandera West, Mandera South and Banisa.
