Ibrahim Barrow Hassan
Ibrahim was born in El-wak town in the early ‘70s. He went to El-wak DEB Primary school from 1981- 1988. He then proceeded to Moi Forces Academy where he completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
He has a Bachelor of Accounting from International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Between the years 2000-2004, Ibrahim was in the United Kingdom where he trained as Chartered Certified Accountant. He has a Masters Degree in Accounting with Finance from the UK. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). While in the UK, he worked as an accountant with IKEA Ltd and as an auditor with Issa Associates.
Ibrahim began his career in Malaysia where he worked with Deloitte and Touché after completing his studies. He returned to Kenya in 1999 and held accounting roles with Co-operative Bank of Kenya.
In the year 2005 he joined East African Portland Cement Co. Ltd as Treasury Accountant. He rose through the ranks to become Assistant Finance Manager. In 2008 he moved to DHL Express Kenya Ltd as Financial Controller and was head of Finance and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) by the time he was appointed by His Excellency the Governor of Mandera County to head the County Treasury.
