The department’s focus is categorised into seven broad
areas defined as units – Internal Audit, Procurement,
Treasury, Revenue, Economic Planning, Budgeting, Special
Programme and Disaster Management.

he Department of Finance and Planning is one of the
nine departments in the County. It plays a pivotal role in
Tthe coordination of development planning, mobilisation
of public resources and ensuring effective accountability of
resources used for the benefit of the County.
The department derives its mandate from the Constitution of
Kenya 2010 and other related subordinate laws, including
Public Management Finance Act 2012, County Government
Public Finance Management Transition Act 2013 and County
Government Act 2012. The department is responsible for fi-
nance and economic planning of the County. It coordinates
the County Government departments and sectors in the
preparation of the annual County budget. It is the respon- The County Treasury block.
