About Mandera County
Mandera County is Kenya’s north-eastern frontier county, bordering Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the east. Covering 25,940 km² and home to 867,457 residents (2019 census), the county is organised into 6 sub-counties and 30 electoral wards.
The County Government of Mandera exists to deliver devolved services — health, water, agriculture, early childhood education, county roads and trade development — under the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County Governments Act.
