The Department of Women Empowerment and Affirmative Action, through the Mandera Gender Technical Working Group (GTWG), in partnership with the Humanitarian International Voluntary Association (HIVA), today convened a meeting to present and discuss the GTWG Terms of Reference (ToR).
The session outlined the ToR’s key components, including the rationale, goals, and objectives of the GTWG; membership structure; leadership and reporting frameworks; roles and responsibilities of members; meeting frequency and modalities; meeting duration; monitoring and evaluation mechanisms; and data management protocols.
The meeting was chaired by Mandera County Commissioner, Mr. Henry Ochako, and brought together various stakeholders committed to advancing gender equality and strengthening coordination in gender-focused interventions across the county.
By clearly defining its operational framework, the GTWG aims to enhance collaboration, streamline reporting, and ensure more effective delivery of gender empowerment initiatives in Mandera.
