A monumental stride was made today for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Mandera County. The Ministry of Social Development, under the leadership of CECM (County Executive Committee Member) Sumeya Bishar, unveiled a collection of assistive devices and trade tools designed to significantly improve the daily lives of PWDs.
The array of devices includes wheelchairs, walking frames, and notably, motorized motorbikes, among other tools. These innovations are set to usher in a new era of mobility and autonomy for PWDs, allowing them to navigate their communities and pursue their trades with increased ease and confidence.
Commenting on the initiative, a spokesperson from the ministry stated, “Our goal is not just to offer support, but to empower PWDs to lead self-reliant and dignified lives. These tools are a testament to Mandera County’s commitment to inclusivity and progress.”
