    Phase Two of INSPIRED Coaches Training Kicks Off to Boost ECDE Quality in Mandera County

    The Department of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), in partnership with the Education Development Trust (EDT) and Volunteers for Progress Africa (VOPA), has kicked off the second phase of training for INSPIRED program coaches. The initiative is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and forms part of the county’s ongoing commitment to strengthening early childhood education.

    The five-day workshop brings together officials from the County Government’s Department of ECDE, representatives from the Ministry of Education, and tutors from Mandera Teachers Training College.

    The training was officially opened by the County Chief Officer for Public Service Management, Mr. Mohamud Mohamed Ali. He was joined by the County Chief Officer for Education and ECDE, Dr. Abdikadir Adan Alio; VOPA Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Issa Adan; and program consultant for VOPA/EDT, Mr. Ahmed Madey.

    Speaking during the opening, Mr. Ali commended the collaborative efforts between the county government, EDT, and VOPA, noting the significant strides achieved in enhancing ECDE service delivery. The county government also expressed appreciation for the partners’ contributions at various stages of the project, which have resulted in notable improvements in the quality of early childhood education across Mandera.

    The INSPIRED program focuses on building the capacity of ECDE coaches to ensure effective teaching and learning, ultimately improving educational outcomes for young learners.
