Mandera United Women SACCO Holds First General Meeting to Empower Members and Chart Future Growth

The Department of Cooperative Development and Marketing successfully convened the first general meeting for the Mandera United Women SACCO at Nurul-Islam Madrasa Hall in Mandera Town. The event saw an impressive turnout of over 800 members who actively participated in shaping the direction of the newly registered SACCO.

The meeting was graced by the Chief Officer for Cooperative Development and Marketing, Miski Hassan Abdi, accompanied by senior departmental officers. Members engaged in enlightening sessions on cooperative principles to equip them with the necessary skills for managing and growing the SACCO. A key highlight of the meeting was the election of new officials who will oversee the SACCO’s operations moving forward.

To streamline financial processes, members had the opportunity to open SACCO accounts, marking a critical step in enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, the members unanimously approved budgets for the upcoming year, ensuring the SACCO operates on a robust and sustainable financial plan.

The agenda also provided an opportunity for members to deliberate on strategies aimed at improving the SACCO’s operations and achieving its objectives. During the AOB session, participants shared their insights and concerns, offering valuable ideas to drive the SACCO’s growth and success.
