The Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development, and Fisheries has officially commissioned the Takaba Livestock Market, a key initiative expected to enhance livestock trade, strengthen the local economy, create job opportunities, and improve revenue generation in the region.
Led by the CECM for Agriculture, Livestock Development, and Fisheries, Mr. Barre Mohamed Shabure, the event brought together various stakeholders, including livestock traders, butchers, herders, women, and youth.
The ceremony was graced by County Chief Officer for Livestock, Animal Health, and Fisheries Mr. Mohamed Adan Issack, Director for Livestock Production Mr. Hussein Madey, Majority Leader and MCA for Takaba South Hon. Adan Nura Ibrein, MCA for Takaba Ward Hon. Mahdi Haji Rashid, County Chief Officer for Conflict Management and Community Cohesion Mr. Hussein Yussuf, alongside other sub-county and national administrators.
This milestone underscores the progress made by the Department of Livestock Production under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif in operationalizing the livestock sector to support economic growth in the region.
