A senior county team led by the CECM Water Dr. Mohamud Eda, CCO Water, and Head of Efficiency Monitoring Unit, handed over the Lafey Water project to the contractor.
In a session well attended by various stakeholders from Lafey, the CECM reiterated the County Government’s determination to solve challenges of access to water
The project is expected to significantly improve last mile connectivity and storage infrastructure for Lafey town addressing access to water services in the area.
The community delightfully welcomed the project and promised to fully support the project to achieve its objectives.
The scope of the project includes:
a)Laying of rising and distribution pipelines
b) Construction of steel elevated storage tanks
c) New consumer connections
The department is committed to delivering sustainable water services across the county to meet the ultimate water demands of the population.
Additionally, the stakeholders immensely thanked H.E. Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif for prioritizing access to water in line with his promise to the people of Mandera.
The Department of Water Services will closely monitor the project progress through its M&E team to ensure work is delivered as per the designs within the timelines.
