TAKABA, Mandera County — The Department of Circular Economy, Solid Waste Management, and Sanitation has distributed sanitation tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) to casual sanitation workers based in Takaba Town, in a move aimed at boosting service delivery and worker safety.

Presided over by the Department’s Director, the exercise saw workers receive essential items including wheelbarrows, rakes, spades, gloves, dust masks, and heavy-duty cleaning brushes.

Officials said the tools are intended to enhance operational efficiency while safeguarding the health and well-being of personnel as they carry out their duties. The support is expected to significantly improve service delivery and contribute to a cleaner, more hygienic environment in Takaba Town.

The Department reaffirmed that sanitation services across the county’s major towns are provided free of charge, supported by what it described as a competent and dedicated workforce.

To ensure consistent and effective waste management, the Department has also deployed sanitation trucks to collect and transport solid waste from urban areas to designated dumpsites.

The initiative underscores the county’s continued commitment to maintaining clean and healthy urban environments for residents.
