In a move aimed at improving water supply and storage infrastructure for Dandu town and its environs, a team of senior county officials led by the CECM Water Dr. Mahamud Eda handed over the Dandu Water Supply project to the contractor.
Dandu town has been dependent on untreated surface water sources for many years, posing public health risks to the residents.
The components of the project include:
a) Construction of composite filtration units and related electromechanical works
b)Laying of rising and distribution pipelines
c) Construction of storage tanks
d) Construction of water kiosks
d) New consumer connections
The department is committed to delivering sustainable water services across the county to meet the current and future water demands of the population.
The residents immensely thanked H.E. Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif for prioritizing access to water in line with his promise to the people of Mandera.
The Department of Water Services will closely monitor the project progress through its M&E team to ensure work is delivered as per the designs within the required timeline.
