Today, His Excellency President William Ruto visited Mandera town, marking the commencement of his development tour of Northern Kenya.
During his visit, the President assessed the progress of the Mandera water supply and sanitation infrastructure (wastewater stabilisation ponds and collector sewerage systems), officially opened the Kenya Medical Training College (Mandera campus) and commissioned Jitume lab at Mandera Technical Training Institute.

The President later led a public Baraza at Mandera stadium, where he interacted with Mandera residents and highlighted the reason for his tour.
He assured the residents that his administration is keen on ending the marginalization of Northern Kenya through development and policy changes.
Also present during the tour were Deputy President H.E. Kithure Kindiki, Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali, Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale (Environment) and Eric Muga (Water), Mandera Senator Ali Roba, MPs, Mandera County Assembly speaker and MCAs.
