The Department of Revenue Services recently held a consultative meeting to discuss the draft Mandera County Revenue Administration Bill 2024. The bill aims to define revenue administration modes, fines, and penalties, and address non-compliance challenges.
The meeting was attended by executive committee members, county attorney, chief officers, and the head of the delivery unit. The attendees proposed vital enhancements for revenue growth, which aim to be incorporated to achieve the county’s own source projection. This aligns with the ongoing revenue transformation agenda led by CECM Finance and Planning, Mr. Ibrahim, aiming to surpass the annual target.
This is a great initiative by the Department of Revenue Services to streamline and normalize revenue operations, and achieve annual targets. The proposed enhancements will help to address non-compliance challenges and boost revenue growth. The county’s own source projection will be achieved by incorporating these suggestions.
The ongoing revenue transformation agenda led by CECM Finance and Planning, Mr. Ibrahim, is a step in the right direction to surpass the annual target. We hope to see more such initiatives in the future.
