This morning, H.E., the Governor attended the final of the Governor MAK Super Cup at Mandera Stadium, where Gorilla FC, representing Mandera North, triumphed over Ajax FC, representing Lafey, with a 2-0 scoreline.
The tournament featured 308 matches, providing a platform for talented youth from 290 teams across the county to showcase their exceptional football skills.
The Governor announced plans to upgrade Mandera Stadium by installing an artificial turf, aiming to develop and harness youth talent in the county.
He commended the players for their discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament and acknowledged the dedication and coordination between the Ministry of Social Development and FKF officials in ensuring the event’s success.
During the closing ceremony, the following teams were awarded:
– Champions: Gorilla (Mandera North) Kshs 500,000
– Runners-Up: Ajax (Lafey) Kshs 200,000
– Position 3: Southpole (Mandera East) Kshs 100,000
– Position 4: Marwani (Mandera West) Kshs 50,000
– Position 5: TNA (Banisa) Kshs 50,000
– Position 6: AL FURQAN (Mandera South) Kshs 50,000
