The Department of Health Services in Mandera County has fully operationalized the Garbaqoley dispensary, a facility expected to serve approximately 6,000 residents.
The operationalization of the dispensary is set to reduce referral burdens and enhance emergency response in the area.
“We have deployed three technical staff to the facility to offer quality services such as treatment of minor ailments, immunization, nutrition services, maternal and child health (MCH) and family planning (FP) services, maternity care, health education, among others,” said the CECM for Health Services, Mumtaza Bishar Musa.
The village has an established and functional community unit that will enhance health-seeking behavior and improve referral networks.
The event was presided over by the CECM for Health Services, Mumtaza Bishar Musa, who was accompanied by CCO Public Health Muktar Issack Kassim, CCO Medical Services Ibrahim Mohamed Ali, Director of Medical Services Dr. Abdi Maalim, and the County/Subcounty Health Management Teams.
The community expressed immense gratitude to the county administration for bringing essential health services closer to them and pledged to fully utilize the facility
