H.E. Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif addressed the Inter-Islamic Forum for the Advancement of Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, organized by COMSTECH (the OIC’s Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation) in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Forum convened delegates from OIC Member States, including ambassadors, diplomats, vice-chancellors, eminent scientists, and scholars to strengthen cooperation in higher education, scientific research, technological innovation, and knowledge-sharing across the Muslim world.

In his remarks, Governor Khalif highlighted the pivotal role education, research, and innovation play in achieving sustainable development. He called for stronger partnerships among governments, academia, industry, and international organizations to accelerate the translation of scientific research into practical solutions for healthcare, food security, climate resilience, digital transformation, and economic growth.

“The challenges facing our communities including climate change, food insecurity, healthcare needs, and youth unemployment, cannot be addressed in isolation. They require robust partnerships among universities, research institutions, governments, and the private sector,” he stated.

Governor Khalif commended COMSTECH for its continued leadership in promoting scientific excellence, capacity building, and technological cooperation among OIC member states, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to deepening institutional linkages and fostering joint research initiatives.
