H.E. Governor Ali Roba, in the company of Cabinet Secretary for EAC and Regional Development Adan Mohammed and North Eastern Regional Commissioner Mr. Nicodemus Ndalana is at this hour in a peace and security meeting in Takaba town, Mandera West. The leaders are joined by Senator Mahamud Mohamed, MPs; Hon. Mohammed Maalim, Hon. Kullow Maalim Hassan, Hon. Adan Haji, Mandera Assembly speaker Hon. Mohamed Adan Khalif and regional security teams. They leaders held town hall meetings to find solutions to rising insecurity incidents.
The peace meetings follow many consultative sessions by all elected leaders from Mandera County to address incidents of IED and gun attacks on all major roads leading to Mandera and cutting off public transport. The leaders have clarified that recent attacks were by the Al-Shabaab militia and not fueled by inter clan animosities as reported in a section of the media.
