Mandera Inducts Newly Recruited Healthcare Workers to Boost Service Delivery

The Ministry of Health Services has launched a four-day induction program for newly recruited healthcare workers as part of ongoing efforts to reform and strengthen Mandera County’s healthcare systems.

The initiative aims to ensure that all healthcare personnel are well-prepared to provide quality, compassionate, and professional care in both urban centers and remote facilities across the county. It also reflects the county’s broader health agenda of enhancing access to affordable, equitable, and high-quality healthcare for all residents.

Speaking at the event, County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Mr. Billow Isaack, thanked the recruits for choosing to serve in Mandera and reaffirmed the county government’s commitment to supporting them through continuous professional development and a conducive working environment.

The new healthcare workers will be deployed across various county health facilities, including hard-to-reach areas, in alignment with Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals.

The county administration has pledged to continue strengthening health infrastructure, investing in staff welfare, and expanding access to essential health services.

The induction event was attended by the CECM for Public Service Management, the Acting Chairperson of the Mandera County Public Service Board, Chief Officers for Public Health, Medical Services, and Public Service Management, as well as directors from health and human resource management, among other officials.
