GOVERNOR KHALIF MEETS ALL 78 MANDERA SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS TO REVIEW ‘ELIMU KWA WOTE’ INITIATIVE

MANDERA, KENYA — Mandera County Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif today held a high-stakes consultative meeting with principals from all 78 public secondary schools in the county to review progress on the flagship Elimu Kwa Wote (Education for All) Initiative.

The strategic session, held at the county headquarters, served as an open platform for school heads and county executives to evaluate the impact of the free secondary education program, audit current school enrollment, and tackle emerging operational hurdles.

Direct Feedback from the Ground

The meeting allowed school heads to provide real-time updates on how the subsidy program is working in their respective sub-counties. While the initiative has successfully driven up student enrollment numbers across Mandera, principals highlighted pressing challenges, including pressure on existing school infrastructure, delayed resource disbursement, and the need for more teacher support to match the student influx.

Governor Khalif welcomed the feedback, stating that proactive dialogue is the only way to safeguard the program’s long-term success.

“Our administration’s commitment to advancing educational access and inclusivity is unshakeable,” Governor Khalif told the educators. “Initiatives like Elimu Kwa Wote are not just social programs—they are the literal foundation of meaningful community development and the best tool we have to fight poverty in Mandera.”

A Partnership for Transformation

The Governor praised the 78 principals for their leadership on the front lines of the education sector, commending their continued collaboration in ensuring the day-to-day implementation of the transformative program. He emphasized that the county’s vision for zero school dropouts relies heavily on the administrative efficiency of its school heads.

Moving forward, the Mandera County Government pledged to address the infrastructural bottlenecks raised during the session. In turn, the school administrators resolved to tighten accountability measures to ensure every shilling allocated under the initiative directly benefits the students.
