In the company of Mandera County Commissioner Mr Henry Achoki, the Deputy Governor, H.E Dr. Ali Maalim, presided over the launch of the new generation SMART driver’s license and digital number plates issuance by the National Transport and Safety Authority at Huduma centre, Mandera town.
NTSA were officially invited by the county’s Ministry of Roads, Transport and Public Works to roll out this important exercise.
During this year’s Madaraka day address at Mandera Stadium, H.E Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif called upon motorists based in Mandera County to benefit from the exercise.
“This initiative embodies the spirit of devolution, bringing service delivery to the last mile. Today’s launch is a testament to how services that were once centralized and posed immense challenges can now be accessed easily, cost-effectively, and conveniently at home,” said the Deputy Governor.
In his remarks, the County Commissioner expressed confidence that the smart license will combat fraud and improve trust in the transport sector.
